Early Wahmania 1992

Advertisements

Back in 1992, I lost my job at the bank where I was doing wire transfers. That fall, I purchased (with the help of my parents) a computerized business setup. That way, I could work from home. So that I could be there for my family. So this I consider to be Early Wahmania, 1992. The setup included personalized children’s books, Santa Letters, a voicemail setup, a home inspection, and medical billing, among other things. Well, the first thing I set up was a talking bulletin board for our community. It was called Clark County’s Talking. I did so because I wasn’t able to find information in the community I lived in. This was rather new at that time. You could call in and press a number (or extension) and listen to the local school’s lunch menus, weather (provided by a local TV meteorologist), Jokes, health tips, school activities, and where you could call for legal aid, child abuse, and domestic violence information. Simple things that were located in the phone book, but they were brought together in one spot. The talking phone line was available 24/7. The media was intrigued, so they did an article on my business. Below, you will find a copy of the article the local newspaper did about my business. So yes, I have been working from home since 1992.
